An Inspiring Story of an IT Professional turned Home Chef!
How did you learn to cook?
Before my marriage, I had minimal skill in cooking. I learned by experimenting on my husband & kids (lol!). My mother taught & guided me about cooking non-vegetarian food dishes. Now, after 18 years of my marriage, I have become an experienced cook. Now, I can prepare non-vegetarian food dishes in 30 to 45 minutes within short notice (Practice! 18 years of experience).
What inspired you to become a Home Chef?
Earlier, I was working as a software professional. As my children grew older, I decided to spend more time with them. I used to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, preparing tasty delicious food. I used to enjoy the process. It was my son who spotted my talent and encouraged me to become Home Chef. My son told me that I prepare tasty delicious food, then why not make it your profession? Why not become a Home Chef and delve into the online food business?
How did you become a Home Chef?
I already had an idea about the profession of Home Chef. It didn’t take me much time to become one. I started searching online for a good platform to begin my online food business. Then, I found out de’HoFoo website. I dug out more information about de’HoFoo, checked reviews, asked a few acquaintances, and then when I was sure & satisfied with de’HoFoo, I joined as a Home Chef.
What are your special dishes?
Special Dishes |
Vidharba Special – Besan, Bhakri, Bajri chi Bhakri, and other Non-vegetarian specials. |
South Indian Breakfast Specials – Idli, Dosa, Uthappam, Chutney & Sambhar. |
I have special dishes for both vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians As I am from the Vidharba region of Maharashtra, I specialize in preparing delicious & hygienic besan, bhakri, bajri bhakri, and other famous Vidharba dishes. I prepare tasty south Indian breakfast as well! But my best food items are non-vegetarian. (Non-vegetarian food lovers brace yourselves! Mouth-watering in 3,2,1...) Even my first dish was a non-vegetarian one!
What’s your best dish?
My best dishes are chicken masala & fish (surmai) curry!
Any compliment about your cooking that made you happy or emotional?
My brother confessed that I cook better than his wife (Salute to his daring!) and that too in front of her (thankfully, she is open-minded). What could be a better compliment than this? It made me feel very content!
Any anecdote that you would like to share?
This anecdote happened after a few years of my marriage. I was back at my mother’s home. My doting brother who was also at home demanded that I should prepare his favourite non-vegetarian food. I prepared his favourite food dishes. But what happened while cooking was a small blunder. I had prepared my secret masala, but what I had forgotten is that I had prepared rassa for the chicken already. I added water to both of them. I didn’t get hold of my blunder.
As I was at my mother’s place after a long time, I was in another trance, completely unaware of the mishap. Finally, when everyone came to know about it, their mood worsened. I prepared the food dishes again! This time without any blunder. Everyone enjoyed my tasty & delicious food, especially my brother. Though it never happened again, I still giggle when I recall the incident.
How did you come to know about de’HoFoo?
I came to know about de’HoFoo through my son. He found out on Google about the top platforms for Home Chefs. It was de’HoFoo on the top. He made me aware of de’HoFoo. I was impressed by the 4.8/5 rating of de’HoFoo, and after finding out more about it, I decided to join de’HoFoo.
What do you think about de’HoFoo?
My opinion about de’HoFoo is all positive. I am highly impressed with the concept of de’HoFoo which brings Home Chefs & Foodies on one platform. It provides an opportunity to the foodies who want to eat & try out different food items, but are particular about hygiene & Ghar ka swaad. I understand the difficulty of living away from home and missing the under-appreciated Ghar ka swaad. This was from my first-hand experience living away from my home for education.
From the perspective of a Home Chef as well, de’HoFoo is a boon for cooking enthusiasts who want to showcase their talent and want to become independent. I was even helped in acquiring an FSSAI certificate which is necessary for beginning the journey of Home Chef. Moreover, the onboarding benefits provided by de’HoFoo are the best! I would suggest everyone join de’HoFoo as a foodie or Home Chef.
How has been your journey with de’HoFoo as Home Chef?
I have enjoyed this brief journey as a Home Chef with de’HoFoo. For me, being a Home Chef is about pursuing my passion for cooking. I pursue cooking as a hobby. I joined de’HoFoo recently, and it has allowed me a great degree of flexibility. Moreover, having a side income is always better. I have rated de’HoFoo 5/5.
Any tip for an upcoming Home Chef?
I would suggest upcoming Home Chefs stick to the basics & focus on hygiene. Moreover, if you’re wondering to start your career as a Home Chef or expand your presence, then joining de’HoFoo is the best. It is safe, reliable, and Home Chef friendly, and the staff is also very helpful & sophisticated.
